Mediation for families in East London
East London is where a large share of our clients come from, and where most of our in-person appointments are held. We work with families from Whitechapel to Romford and from Walthamstow to the river – many of them Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Nigerian, Somali, Lithuanian and Polish households where grandparents, faith and the family home all have a say in what a fair agreement looks like.
Every family application from these seven boroughs is heard at the East London Family Court in Canary Wharf, which is busy, and where a judge will ask whether you have tried mediation first. Most couples we see here settle without a hearing at all: two to four joint sessions, online or in person by appointment in a private, neutral room, and a written agreement at the end.

Which court hears your case depends on where the children live, and the court confirms it when you apply. Before a C100 for children or a Form A for finances it expects a MIAM first, and our certificate is accepted at every family court in England and Wales. If proceedings have already started, mediation can run alongside them.
