Mediation for families in Haringey
Haringey is two boroughs in one: Tottenham and Wood Green in the east, with some of the highest child poverty in the country, and Crouch End, Muswell Hill and Highgate in the west, where a family home can be worth more than a million pounds. We mediate for both, and the price does not change – £125 for a MIAM, £180 per person per joint session, and the Government voucher where children are involved.
Haringey applications usually go to the Barnet Civil and Family Courts Centre in Finchley, which expects a MIAM first. Most people do it online within days; we also see couples in person in Haringey by appointment, in a private, neutral room. In the same room, or in separate rooms – your choice.

Which court hears your case depends on where the children live, and the court confirms it when you apply. Before a C100 for children or a Form A for finances it expects a MIAM first, and our certificate is accepted at every family court in England and Wales. If proceedings have already started, mediation can run alongside them.

Questions people in Haringey ask
Where is the family court for Haringey?
Usually the Barnet Civil and Family Courts Centre in Finchley. Our MIAM certificate is accepted there and at every other family court.
We were never married – can we still mediate about money?
Yes. Unmarried couples have fewer legal claims on each other, which makes an agreed arrangement about the home, the deposit and child maintenance even more valuable, because the court has less it can order.
Is the Government voucher available?
Yes. Where your case involves arrangements for children, the Family Mediation Voucher gives up to £500 per family towards joint sessions. It is applied to your invoice, so you pay the difference.
