Mediation for families in London
Salam Mediation is a London family mediation practice, registered at City Road and working with separating couples across all thirty-two boroughs. We are accredited by the Family Mediation Council, which means the MIAM certificate we sign is accepted by every family court in the capital – from the Central Family Court in Holborn to the East London Family Court in Canary Wharf and the West London Family Court in Feltham.
London is expensive, and a contested court case here can cost each of you more than the deposit on a flat. Most of the couples we see settle in two to four joint sessions – held online from wherever you are, or in person by appointment in a private, neutral room. You can sit in the same room as your ex, or in separate rooms with the mediator moving between you.

Which court hears your case depends on where the children live, and the court confirms it when you apply. Before a C100 for children or a Form A for finances it expects a MIAM first, and our certificate is accepted at every family court in England and Wales. If proceedings have already started, mediation can run alongside them.

Questions people in London ask
Where in London do you see people in person?
By appointment, in a private, neutral room – and we can come to a location that suits you both. Tell us where you each live when you book and we will arrange somewhere reasonable for both of you. Most Londoners start online because it saves the journey, and switch to face-to-face only if a session needs it.
Which London family court will my case go to?
It depends on where the children live and what you are applying for. Central London boroughs are generally heard at the Central Family Court in Holborn; the east of the city at the East London Family Court in Canary Wharf; the west at the West London Family Court in Feltham; and Barnet, Croydon and Bromley have their own family courts. Our MIAM certificate is accepted at all of them.
Do you cover my borough?
Yes. We have pages for many London boroughs and towns below, but the service is the same everywhere in London and online across England and Wales. If your area is not listed, it is still covered.
Is the Government voucher available?
Yes. Where your case involves arrangements for children, the Family Mediation Voucher gives up to £500 per family towards joint sessions. It is applied to your invoice, so you pay the difference.
