Mediation for families in Stratford and Newham
Stratford is easy to reach from almost anywhere in East London – the Central, Jubilee, Elizabeth and Overground lines and the DLR all meet there – which makes it the most practical place in the east of the city for two people who no longer live together to meet a mediator halfway. We see couples in person in Stratford by appointment, in a private, neutral room, and online.
Many of the families we work with from Stratford, Maryland and the Olympic Park are younger, renting, and with children under ten. The arguments are about the week-to-week: nursery pick-ups, who keeps the flat, maintenance while one of you is retraining. Those settle in mediation faster than almost anything else, usually in two or three sessions.

Which court hears your case depends on where the children live, and the court confirms it when you apply. Before a C100 for children or a Form A for finances it expects a MIAM first, and our certificate is accepted at every family court in England and Wales. If proceedings have already started, mediation can run alongside them.

Questions people in Stratford ask
Is Stratford a good place to meet if we live in different boroughs?
Yes, that is why people choose it. It is on the Central, Jubilee and Elizabeth lines, the Overground and the DLR, so it is roughly equal travel from Walthamstow, Ilford, Bow and Canary Wharf.
Which court hears Stratford cases?
The East London Family Court in Canary Wharf – two stops from Stratford on the Jubilee line and then the DLR. A MIAM is expected before a C100 or Form A.
Is the Government voucher available?
Yes. Where your case involves arrangements for children, the Family Mediation Voucher gives up to £500 per family towards joint sessions. It is applied to your invoice, so you pay the difference.
